One day for our community to open the door to safety.
Opening the door to safety
Imagine having to decide whether staying in your home is more dangerous than leaving everything you know behind.
For survivors of domestic violence, that decision can come in the middle of the night, with children in their arms and very few belongings. The first questions are simple and urgent. Where can I go? Who will help me? Will my children and I be safe?
The Family Justice Center of Georgetown and Horry Counties exists so survivors do not have to face those questions alone. Every day, we help survivors move from fear toward safety and independence through crisis intervention, safety planning, counseling, advocacy, legal support, and compassionate guidance.
Now we are taking an important next step. We are preparing to open a new safehouse, expanding safe housing and 24/7 support for survivors and their children when going home is not an option.
Your Coastal Giving Day gift helps provide shelter, food, personal and household necessities, advocacy, counseling, and the support a survivor needs to begin again.
Because of you, a survivor can find safety.
Because of you, a child can find hope.
Because of you, a family can begin again.
